About the Players

We are a community group based in Woodingdean, a village about 3 miles east of Central Brighton. Our mission is to provide fun family pantomimes. 

The Players are a great group of local people who come together every couple of years to put on a 'Home Grown' pantomime that has the spirit of Woodingdean at its heart. Our aim is always to ensure that the pantomime is affordable and that everyone leaves the show with a smile on their face. 

Costumes are either onsies (we do a lot of onsies!), hired from Gladrags , brought from charity or 2nd hand shops, 'models own' or hand made by crew members.  We have been lucky enough to have some crew members who can turn many a pigs ear into a sows purse. 

Our props are painted by crew members and often reused with a new coat of paint year on year!

Rehearsals take place from August and usually include a fair amount of fun and some excellent home-made cakes. 

We work with Brighton School of Singing (thanks to Gary Whalen)
